The Minute You Look Away

What a busy morning it’s been.  As I’ve been running several errands, driving back and forth, up and down streets in our neighborhood, I noticed several trucks with work materials and tools on the back of them with the owner nowhere in sight.  Had I been a crook, they would have all been easy bait.

My brother is living proof.  He does construction in Chicago and the surrounding areas.  He ran into a fast food place once just for a few minutes, only to find that his truck had been robbed.  He had a really big toolbox on the back. That just goes to show you that you can’t turn your back for a minute sometimes because you never know who just might be watching your every move. There are bad guys and desolate, desperate individuals all around us.

I’m thinking of these things because I also came across a video from Illinois of  three thieves caught on the homeowner’s surveillance camera, cleaning out a hard working man’s tools.  It wasn’t the first time this had happened, therefore they put a security camera in place. They caught all three of them on video plain as day! Now they were able to play it for all to see on the news. They are bound to get caught!  It’s truly a shame that some have resorted to stealing from hard working individuals.

It’s a great peace of mind to have cameras around your home. Having your car in view, or even your kids out and around your home. There have been times that parents have had to run inside for a second to grab a drink, a band-aid or the phone.  If only those homes where kids that have ended up missing from their own yards had their backyard in view, etc. There may have even been more hope for finding them or who abducted them. You can’t put a price on the people and property they are helping.
